MediaTek has estimated its third-quarter 2020 revenues will reach NT$82.5-87.9 billion (US$2.75-2.79 billion)

for a 22-30% sequential growth, well beyond market expectations, as shipments for all its product lines,

particularly Dimensity series 5G SoCs, will rise significantly.

The company has also projected its gross margin at 41.5-44.5% for the third quarter,

roughly the same level as that for the second quarter.

매출총이익률(매출에서 매출원가를 제외한 금액/ 매출액)은 41.5-44.5%에 달할것이며,

이는 전분기 매출총이익률과 비슷할 것.

 

The chipmaker's first-half 2020 revenues expanded 12.4% on year to NT$128.46 billion, and net profits surged 33.33% on year to NT$13.114 billion, with average gross margin arriving at 43.31%.

 

After beating its financial guidance for first-half 2020, MediaTek is expected to post a minimum annual revenue increase of 15% for the whole year, double its original growth projection, industry sources said, citing some significant messages conveyed by CEO Rick Tsai at the firm's recent investors conference.

Tsai has insisted that global shipments of 5G handsets will reach 170-200 million units in 2020 and are very likely to reach the upper goal.

Meanwhile, major Chinese handset vendors have adopted MediaTek's 5G chips solutions in new offerings to come out in second-half 2020, providing significant momentum for MediaTek's 5G SoCs shipments and market share. Its market share in the 4G SoC segment will also hit a new high this year, according to Tsai.
