Nvidia (NVDA, Financials) and Foxconn are in talks to deploy humanoid robots at a new AI server manufacturing plant in Houston, marking a potential first for both companies in integrating human-like robotics into mass production, Reuters reported Friday, citing two unnamed sources.

 

엔비디아(NVDA)와 폭스콘이 미국 휴스턴에 신설되는 AI 서버 생산 공장에 휴머노이드 로봇을 도입하는 방안을 논의 중이라고 로이터통신이 금요일 보도했다.

이 보도는 익명을 요구한 두 명의 소식통을 인용한 것으로, 사람과 유사한 로봇을 대량 생산 라인에 투입하는 것은 양사 모두에게 처음 있는 일이 될 수 있다고 전했다.

 

If finalized, the deal would be Nvidia's first use of humanoid robots in manufacturing and Foxconn's first AI server plant to utilize them on a production line. The Houston facility, which is scheduled to begin operations in early 2026, is being designed with extra space to accommodate such automation.

 

이 협상이 최종 성사될 경우, 엔비디아가 제조 과정에 휴머노이드 로봇을 도입하는 것은 이번이 처음이며, 폭스콘 역시 AI 서버 생산 공장에서 해당 로봇을 실제 생산 라인에 적용하는 첫 사례가 된다.

Foxconn has tested humanoid robots made in-house and by China's UBTech, though it's unclear which model will be used in Houston or how many will be deployed. Foxconn has trained its robots to perform tasks such as picking and placing objects and inserting cables, according to a company presentation in May.

 

폭스콘은 자사 자체 개발 모델과 중국 **유비테크(UBTech)**가 제작한 휴머노이드 로봇을 테스트해 왔지만, 휴스턴 공장에서 어떤 모델이 사용될지, 또 몇 대가 투입될지는 아직 확정되지 않았다.

 

폭스콘은 지난 5월 발표에서, 로봇들이 물건을 집어 옮기거나 케이블을 삽입하는 작업 등을 수행할 수 있도록 훈련하고 있다고 밝혔다.

 

Foxconn executive Leo Guo said last month the company will unveil two humanoid robot models at its November tech eventone with legs and another with a wheeled autonomous mobile base.
