TSMC 3분기에 4나노 공정 시험 생산 예정.

7월1일부터 위탁 생산 수수료를 다시 한번 인상.

 

TSMC is fast advancing its manufacturing processes, and it is expected to move its N4, namely 4nm, node to risk production in the third quarter of 2021, with N3 - 3nm node - to start volume production at the world's number-one pure-play foundry house in second-half 2022.

With chip shortage not expected to ease anytime soon amid persistently tight semiconductor manufacturing capacity, foundry houses have already notified clients they are raising servie fees again next month.

칩 공급 부족 사태가 단기간에 해결될 기미가 보이지 않는 가운데, TSMC는 다음 달에 위탁 생산 수수료를

올릴 것을 고객사들에게 이미 통보했다.

 

In the PC sector, Intel stands to lose more share in the notebook processor market, as Apple, now one of the chip giant's major clients, is switching to in-house developed Arm-based CPUs.

TSMC to move N4 to risk production in 3Q21: TSMC is set to move N4 (namely 4nm process) to risk production in the third quarter of 2021, while its N3 technology development is on track with volume production scheduled for second-half 2022, according to sources at the foundry's ecosystem partners.

Foundries to initiate another price increases: Taiwan-based IC design houses, including first-tier players and those specializing in LCD driver ICs and MOSFET chips, have been notified by their foundry partners about another price hikes starting July 1, according to industry sources.
