TSM Stock: Apple iPhone 13 Chip Production Boosts TSMC’s June Sales | Investor's Business Daily (investors.com)

7월9일 TSMC는 예상보다 좋은 6월 매출 실적 발표.

6월 매출은 전년 동월대비 22.8% 증가하고 전월대비 32.1% 증가한 53.5억달러 달성.

9월 판매 예정인 애플 아이폰 13에 사용될 칩 생산 덕분에 매출 증가.

 

6월까지 누적 매출은 전년 동기대비 18.2% 증가.

(작년 상반기 매출은 한화로 약 23.6조원, 1년 매출 52.5조원  순이익 20.7조원 정도였다.)

2분기 전체 실적 발표는 7월15일 예정.

시장에서는 2분기 시적을 매출 132.2억달러, 주당순이익 93센트로 예상.

 

 

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM), known as TSMC, on Friday announced better-than-expected June sales. The news bodes well for the chipmaker's second-quarter earnings report next week. TSM stock rose on Friday.

TSMC said its sales last month rose 22.8% year over year in local currency to the equivalent of $5.35 billion. And its sales jumped 32.1% from May. TSMC reports financial results in New Taiwan dollars.

Year-to-date through June, TSMC's sales are up 18.2% from the same period last year.

 

"The strong finish to the quarter fits with our view that:

1) foundry capacity remains tight, and

2) TSMC is likely realizing the initial benefits from shipments of silicon for Apple's next generation of iPhones," Wedbush Securities analyst Matt Bryson said in a note to clients. He rates TSM stock as outperform.

TSM Stock Advances On June Sales Report

As the world's leading chip foundry, Taiwan Semi makes chips for a host of major companies including Apple (AAPL), AMD (AMD), Nvidia (NVDA) and Qualcomm (QCOM).

TSMC plans to report second-quarter results early Thursday. Analysts expect it to earn 93 cents per U.S. share on sales of $13.22 billion, FactSet says.

That would translate to year-over-year growth of 18% in earnings and 25% in sales.

On the stock market today, TSM stock rose 2.3% to 120.56.

Apple Stock Notches Record High

"The strong results in the month of June give us additional confidence in our projection for a significant sequential uptick in sales in Q3 and through the second half of 2021 as TSMC should continue to benefit from Apple's ramp of iPhone 13 production as well as typical seasonal strength," Bryson said. Apple is on track to announce its iPhone 13 handsets in September.

 

Meanwhile, Apple stock hit an all-time high of 145.65 in intraday trading on Friday. It ended the regular session Friday up 1.3% to 145.11.

 

TSMC should continue to benefit from strong pricing and margins because of tight foundry capacity, Bryson said.

TSM stock is in a 21-week consolidation pattern as it hovers near its 10-week moving average, according to IBD analysis.
