소식통에 따르면 UMC는 1월에 견적을 인상한 후 3월에 추가 가격 조정이 시작될 것임을 고객에게 알렸고
PSMC는 일부 제품의 가격을 인상하기 시작했다고 소식통은 말했습니다.
UMC는 12인치 및 8인치 팹을 완전 가동률로 계속 운영하고 있으며 올해 매출 성장이 업계 평균을 능가할 것으로
예상된다고 소식통은 밝혔습니다.
UMC와 PSMC는 모두 4분기 및 2021년 실적 수준에 대해 논의하고 1월 25일 각각의 실적 컨퍼런스 콜에서
올해 비즈니스 전망을 제공할 예정입니다.
UMC는 2021년 4분기에 매출이 9분기 연속 사상 최고치를 경신했습니다.
연간 매출은 약 NT$2,130억(76억8,000만 달러)로 2020년 동기대비 20.5% 증가했습니다.
PSMC는 세전 이익이 NT$192.1억으로 전년 대비 약 300% 증가한 2021년에 매출이 NT$656.2억으로 최고치를
기록했다고 발표했습니다.
시장 소식통에 따르면 중국 칩 제조 부문의 강력한 수요로 인해 Hua Hong Semiconductor가 파운드리 견적을
인상하고 있으며, 이는 2022년 2분기에 크게 상승하고 4분기까지 상승할 것으로 예상됩니다.
Pure-play foundries United Microelectronics (UMC) and Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing (PSMC) are poised to see their revenues hit record highs in the first quarter of 2022, thanks to ongoing upturns in their foundry quotes, according to industry sources.
UMC has notified customers about additional upward price adjustments that will start in March, after raising its quotes in January, and PSMC has started to raise prices for some of its offerings, the sources said.
UMC continues to run its 12- and 8-inch fabs at full-capacity utilization rates, and is expected to see its revenue growth this year outperform the industry average, the sources indicated.
Both UMC and PSMC are scheduled to discuss their performance levels for the fourth quarter and for 2021, and to provide their business outlooks this year at their respective earnings conference calls on January 25.
UMC saw its revenue hit an all-time high for the ninth consecutive quarter in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Revenue for the entire year totaled about NT$213 billion (US$7.68 billion), rising 20.5% from 2020.
PSMC has disclosed that its revenue climbed to a new high of NT$65.62 billion in 2021,
when pre-tax profits hiked about 300% on year to NT$19.21 billion.
In other news, strong demand from China's chipmaking sector is encouraging Hua Hong Semiconductor to raise its foundry quotes, which are expected to rise substantially in the second quarter and rise through the fourth quarter of 2022, according to market sources.
