2022년1분기 글로벌 반도체 매출 23% 증가

 

Worldwide semiconductor sales came to US$50.6 billion in March, up 1.1% sequentially.

Sales totaled US$151.7 billion for the first quarter of 2022, down by a slight 0.5% on quarter but up 23% on year, according to data disclosed by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).

 

반도체산업 협회에 따르면 3월 반도체 매출은 전월대비 1.1%증가한 506억달러였다.

1분기 매출은 전분기 비해서는 0.5% 감소했으나 전년 동기대비 23% 증가한 1517억달러에 달했다.

"Global semiconductor sales remained strong during the first quarter of 2022, increasing across all major regional markets and product categories compared to the first quarter of last year," said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. "For the month of March, sales into the Americas continued to lead all regional markets, increasing by 40.1% year-to-year."

 

1분기 글로벌 반도체 매출은 모든 주요 지역과 모든 상품 분야에서 전년 동기대비 증가하면서

강세를 유지했다고 반도체 협회 사장은 언급했다.

3월 매출도 미국 시장이 주도하면서 전년 동월대비 40.1% 증가했다.

 

In addition to the year-to-year sales increase in the Americas, sales were up compared to March 2021 in Europe (25.7%), Japan (20.4%), Asia Pacific/All Other (17.9%), and China (17.3%). Month-to-month sales increased in Asia Pacific/All Other (2.9%), Europe (2.6%), Japan (1.4%), and China (1.0%), but fell slightly in the Americas (-1.5%).

 

IC Insights in its recent report disclosed that the world's top-10 semiconductor companies

held a combined 57% share of the total US$614.6 billion market in 2021.

Five of the top-10 semiconductor sales leaders (excluding pure-play foundries) were fabless suppliers,

compared with the only one fabless company (i.e., Qualcomm) in the ranking in 2008, and none in 2000.

 

MediaTek and AMD were the two new entrants into the top 10 ranking in 2021, according to IC Insights. MediaTek registered an amazing 61% jump in sales, which moved the company up three positions in the ranking (from 11th to 8th) while AMD posted an even larger 68% surge in sales in 2021 to go from the 14th position to the number 10 spot in the ranking.
